Dan Castillo

Dan Castillo, a native of West Texas, was elected as President of TDVA at the inaugural board of director’s meeting in March 2009. In March of this year, he stepped down as President and assumed the role of Vice President and take a more active role in fundraising and community involvement.

Dan served with the U.S. Army for five years throughout the United States and Central and South America until he was medically retired due to a service related injury. His military leadership positions included a M60A3 Tank Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and Team Leader with Special Operations.

Dan has actively served for over 20 years as a member, newsletter editor, advocacy director, legislative director and held multiple boards of director positions in various veteran organizations.

Dan holds an Associate of Arts Degree from New Mexico Military Institute and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Angelo State University. Dan is a proud father of son Chris who is currently attending college in upstate New York.

Dan is a founding member of TDVA and strongly advocates for improving the benefits entitled to all fellow veterans.
